Numbers 6
Yahweh spoke to Moses:
“Speak to the sons of Israel and say to them: When a man or woman makes a special vow, the vow of a Nazirite, to separate themselves for Yahweh,
they must abstain from wine and other intoxicating drink. They must not drink wine vinegar or vinegar from other intoxicating drink, or any liquid made from grapes, and must not eat fresh grapes or raisins.
Throughout their separation they must eat nothing produced from the grapevine, from seeds to skins.
Throughout the vow of separation, no razor is to pass over their head. Until the days for which they have separated themselves for Yahweh are completed, they are to be holy, letting the hair of their head grow freely.
Throughout their separation for Yahweh, they must not approach a dead person.
They must not make themselves unclean for their father, mother, brother, or sister when they die, because the sign of their separation for their God is on their head.
Throughout their separation they are holy to Yahweh.
“If someone dies suddenly beside them and defiles their consecrated head, they are to shave their head on the day of their cleansing; on the seventh day they are to shave it.
On the eighth day they are to bring two turtledoves or two young pigeons to the priest at the entrance of the tent of meeting.
The priest is to offer one as a purification offering and one as a burnt offering and make atonement for them because of their sin concerning the dead person. On that day they are to consecrate their head again.
They are to separate themselves for Yahweh for their days of separation and bring a year-old male lamb as a reparation offering. The former days are forfeited, because their separation was defiled.
“This is the instruction for the Nazirite when the days of separation are completed: the Nazirite is to be brought to the entrance of the tent of meeting.
They are to present their offering to Yahweh: one year-old male lamb without defect as a burnt offering, one year-old female lamb without defect as a purification offering, and one ram without defect as peace offerings;
also a basket of unleavened bread, ring-shaped loaves of fine flour mixed with oil, and unleavened wafers spread with oil, with their grain offerings and drink offerings.
The priest is to present them before Yahweh and offer the Nazirite’s purification offering and burnt offering.
He is to offer the ram as a peace sacrifice to Yahweh, with the basket of unleavened bread. The priest is also to offer its grain offering and drink offering.
The Nazirite is to shave their consecrated head at the entrance of the tent of meeting, take the hair from their consecrated head, and put it on the fire under the peace sacrifice.
The priest is to take the boiled shoulder from the ram, one unleavened ring-shaped loaf from the basket, and one unleavened wafer, and put them into the Nazirite’s hands after the Nazirite has shaved off their consecrated hair.
The priest is to wave them as a wave offering before Yahweh. They are holy, belonging to the priest, in addition to the breast of the wave offering and the thigh of the contribution. Afterward the Nazirite may drink wine.
“This is the instruction for the Nazirite who vows an offering to Yahweh for their separation, besides whatever else they can afford. They must do according to the vow they make, in keeping with the instruction for their separation.”
Yahweh spoke to Moses:
“Speak to Aaron and his sons: This is how you are to bless the sons of Israel. Say to them:
‘May Yahweh bless you and guard you.
May Yahweh make his face shine toward you and be gracious to you.
May Yahweh lift his face toward you and grant you peace.’
“They are to put my name on the sons of Israel, and I will bless them.”
