1These are the stages of the sons of Israel’s journey out of Egypt, company by company, under Moses and Aaron.
2Moses recorded their departures by stages at Yahweh’s command. Here are the stages, departure by departure.
3They left Rameses in the first month, on its fifteenth day. It was the day after Passover when the sons of Israel went out with a high hand before the eyes of all Egypt.
4The Egyptians were burying those Yahweh had struck down among them, every firstborn. Yahweh had also carried out judgments against their gods.
5The sons of Israel departed from Rameses and made camp at Succoth.
6From Succoth they departed and made camp at Etham, on the wilderness’s edge.
7They departed from Etham, and one turned back toward Pi-hahiroth, opposite Baal-zephon. They made camp in front of Migdol.
8They departed from in front of Hahiroth, passed through the sea into the wilderness, and traveled three days in the Etham wilderness before making camp at Marah.
9From Marah they departed and came to Elim. Elim had twelve water springs and seventy palm trees, and they made camp there.
10From Elim they departed and made camp beside the Sea of Reeds.
11From the Sea of Reeds they departed and made camp in the Sin wilderness.
12From the Sin wilderness they departed and made camp at Dophkah.
13From Dophkah they departed and made camp at Alush.
14From Alush they departed and made camp at Rephidim. The people had no water to drink there.
15From Rephidim they departed and made camp in the Sinai wilderness.
16From Sinai wilderness they departed and made camp at Kibroth-hattaavah.
17From Kibroth-hattaavah they departed and made camp at Hazeroth.
18From Hazeroth they departed and made camp at Rithmah.
19From Rithmah they departed and made camp at Rimmon-perez.
20From Rimmon-perez they departed and made camp at Libnah.
21From Libnah they departed and made camp at Rissah.
22From Rissah they departed and made camp at Kehelathah.
23From Kehelathah they departed and made camp at Mount Shepher.
24From Mount Shepher they departed and made camp at Haradah.

36From Ezion-geber they departed and made camp in the Zin wilderness, that is, Kadesh.
37From Kadesh they departed and made camp at Mount Hor on the edge of Edom’s territory.
38Aaron the priest went up Mount Hor at Yahweh’s command and died there. It was the fortieth year after the sons of Israel left Egypt, the first day of the fifth month.
39Aaron was 123 years old when he died on Mount Hor.
40The Canaanite king of Arad, who lived in the Negev in the land of Canaan, heard of the sons of Israel’s coming.
41From Mount Hor they departed and made camp at Zalmonah.
42From Zalmonah they departed and made camp at Punon.
43From Punon they departed and made camp at Oboth.
44From Oboth they departed and made camp at Iye-abarim on Moab’s border.
45From Iyim they departed and made camp at Dibon-gad.
46From Dibon-gad they departed and made camp at Almon-diblathaim.
47From Almon-diblathaim they departed and made camp in the Abarim mountains, in front of Nebo.
48From the Abarim mountains they departed and made camp on the plains of Moab, beside the Jordan opposite Jericho.
49Their camp along the Jordan stretched from Beth-jeshimoth to Abel-shittim on the plains of Moab.
50On the plains of Moab, beside the Jordan opposite Jericho, Yahweh spoke to Moses:
51“Speak to the sons of Israel and tell them: When you cross the Jordan into Canaan,
52drive out all the land’s inhabitants before you. Destroy all their figured stones, destroy all their cast images, and demolish all their high places.
53Take possession of the land and live in it, for I have given you the land to possess.
54Allocate the land as an inheritance by lot among your clans. Give a larger inheritance to the larger group, a smaller inheritance to the smaller group. Wherever the lot falls for a group, that shall be its portion. Take your inheritance by your ancestral tribes.
55But if you do not drive the land’s inhabitants out before you, those you let remain will be barbs in your eyes and thorns in your sides. They will harass you in the land where you live.
56Then I will do to you what I intended to do to them.”
